Soldering. Sooner or later we all have to do it, and learning the techniques can seem daunting. Roger Chrysler visits The Backshop Clinic to give us some tips on using a traditional soldering iron as well as a resistance-soldering tool.

I enjoyed the video. What liquid flux did you use and where do you get it and the solid silver solder?

Thanks,

Tim

Both the liquid rosin flux and the silver solder are made by Kester. The solder is distributed by Ngineering, their part number N4200. Ngineering are the people who supply nano size LEDs to the hobby. The liquid rosin flux can be bought at electronic supply distributors. I bought two litre bottles several years ago (1997) and I'm just on the second one now. The squeeze bottle that I apply the flux with is from A-west. This makes it really handy to just apply a drop at a time.

In process of ordering a resistance soldering unit so very timely.

We just recently moved the site from http to https, and a few links got missed. We changed the above play links to https and they now work fine - so try 'em again!
