The Columbia Gorge Model Railroad operates a mammoth 5000-square-foot layout in downtown Portland, Oregon  The group is the host club for the National Model Railroad Association's 2015 convention.  This video kicks off a TrainMasters TV series showcasing some of the layouts that you can visit at the convention in August.

First Class! - as always TMTV, well done.

Tempting me to. visit Portland for the August NMRA Convention. Would love to tour this layout.

In the item on the Portland club it was mentioned that cars must roll on one gradient but stand still on a lesser one.

Is it common for braking friction (e.g. axle wipers) to be fitted to prevent rolling?
